Juan Hernandez Sonata Classical Guitar – 630mm Cedar/Wenge (2026)
All-Solid Spanish Classical Guitar with a Comfortable Shorter Scale
Enjoy authentic Spanish tone, handcrafted quality, and comfortable playability with the 2026 Juan Hernandez Sonata Classical Guitar. Handmade in Valencia, Spain, this all-solid instrument combines a responsive solid cedar top with distinctive solid wenge back and sides, creating a warm, articulate voice with impressive projection and tonal balance.
The 630mm scale length offers a more comfortable alternative to the traditional 650mm classical scale. The slightly shorter string length reduces fret spacing and string tension, making stretches, barre chords, position changes, and extended practice sessions easier for many players. It is especially appealing to guitarists with smaller hands, players experiencing reduced hand flexibility, or anyone who simply prefers the relaxed feel of a short-scale classical guitar.
The solid cedar soundboard responds quickly and produces a warm, mature tone with rich overtones. Its sensitivity allows the player to shape phrases with subtle changes in touch and dynamics. Solid wenge back and sides complement the cedar top with clarity, focused projection, defined bass response, and a visually striking grain pattern.
Traditional Spanish construction helps the Sonata respond as a unified instrument, delivering the resonance, balance, and expressive character associated with fine guitars handmade in Valencia. Whether used for classical repertoire, fingerstyle arrangements, worship music, teaching, recording, or personal enjoyment, the Juan Hernandez Sonata offers an inviting playing experience and a voice that encourages musical expression.
Why You’ll Love This Guitar
The Juan Hernandez Sonata 630mm is an excellent choice for players who want the warmth and responsiveness of an all-solid Spanish classical guitar without the longer reach of a standard 650mm scale. Its comfortable fret spacing, reduced string tension, balanced projection, and distinctive cedar-and-wenge voice make it enjoyable for both developing musicians and experienced performers.
